AWRS 19. 10 DAYS KILIMANJARO MOUNTAIN CLIMB
MACHEME ROUTE

Day 1: Arrive and pick from Entebbe Airport and transfer to your hotel in Kampala. Speke hotel .Fullboard.

Day 2: Early morning transfer to Nairobi by road with a stop over in Kisumu for lunch and thereafter onward to Nairobi Kenya. Overnight at Saroma Panafric Hotel.

Day 3: After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Arusha/Tanzania for overnight stay Impala Hotel in Arusha.
Lunch at either Namanga or Arusha.

Day 4: After breakfast, we drive for 2 hours through homesteads till we reach Kilimanjaro National Park office for registration and continue to Macheme gate. Thereafter, start trekking through dense montane rain forest to Macheme hut 3000 m a.s.l for overnight rest.

Day 5: Start early morning hike from Macheme hut after breakfast and hike through the heather and moorland zone to Shira camp 3800 m a.s.l for an overnight rest.

Day 6: Start from Shira Hut and hike to Barranco camp 3900 m a.s.l for overnight rest.

Day 7: Start early morning hike to Barranco camp to Barafu camp 4600 m a.s.l. while on trail, you will have a nice view of the landscape as you cross the Karanga valley. Overnight stay at Barafu camp.

Day 8: Start an early morning hike at midnight from Barafu camp. This is a long day hike. Get on steep path climb up the western ridge of the southeast valley and head to the crater rim at Stella point 5895 m and then join the route as from Gillman’s point and onward to Kibo rim till you reach Uhuru Peak 5986 m the highest Peak in Africa. Thereafter trek back to Stella point and continue down to Barafu camp and descend further down to Mweka hut 3100 m for an overnight rest.

Day 9: Start from Mweka camp and descend through the montane rain forest to Mweka gate and onward to Impala hotel in Arusha for a fresh bath and drinks.

Day 10: Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight.
