AWRS 11. 11 DAYS RWENZORI CLIMBING AND QUEEN ELIZABETH N.PARK.

The Rwenzori ranges lie 120km along the western border of Uganda and rise to a height of 5,100 meters. Walking tours on the lower slopes do not call for mountaineering experience, but only adept and properly equipped climbers should attempt the peaks, three of which rise above 5000m

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport and you are met by our Guide and driven to Hotel in Kampala, After check in Arrange with the guide for a briefing, going through the Itinerary and change some money. Overnight at Speke Hotel or Holiday Express.

Day 2: Drive down to Kasese in the southwest passing through Mubende. Stop for lunch at Travelers Inn Fort Portal, Thereafter continue to Kasese overnight at Margarita Hotel.

Day 3: After breakfast start your travel to Nyakalengijja a starting point to the Mountain, It is from here that you meet the Guides and porters that Escort you to the Higher peaks, This day you walk through Coffee plantations, Crossing the Mahoma river up to the forested ridge with a view of the portal peaks which raises to 5000M and the Bujuku valley, Overnight at Nyabitaba huts.

Day 4: After breakfast with packed Lunch start your trekking to John Matte(3550M) the trail is a mixture of descend and ascend through the Nyamuleju boggy areas, Hiking to John matte may take you 5—7 hours depending on your mountaineering fitness. It is from this point that if the weather clears you are able to see clearly the Margaritta peaks.

Day 5: After a cup of coffee get set off to Bujuku through The beautiful valley filled with Giant lobelias, Giant heather trees, groundsels, helichrysum and lots of stunning water falls, Finally you find yourself along the L.Bujuku a lake collecting its waters from the melting glaciers of Mt. Speke, Mt. Margaritta and Mt. Baker and have a rest at Bujuku Mountain huts.

Day 6: It is from here that if you are not a climber you opt to climbing through to escort-Eliot pass to Kitandara lakes over looking Mt. Baker and Stanley. Mountaineers hike to Elena hut 4.899M and prepare themselves for Climbing to Margaritta peaks the following day.

Day 7: Climb to the peak have a clear view of Mt. Speke, Mt. Baker, Mt. Albert and if the weather is good you opt to climbing all the twin peaks of Margaritta and Alexandra all on Mt. Stanley. After a good time, Have a view of DR Congo; ask your guide where the Duke of Abruzzi (Italian expedition) set their camp in 1906? At the time they reached the peak of Margaritta, Be one of the people to write in the book found here to confirm your arrival on this point. After your successful view and pictures descend to Kitandara Camp 4000m for your rest time and a cup of coffee.

Day 8: Descend to Guy Yoa Man Camp a camp in the heather trees mixed with moss and helichrysium vegetation around the camp have a breath from the beautiful Kabamba water falls and the mountain music from Mountain Hyrax and other wildlife in the mountains.

Day 9: Descend to Nyakalengijja walking through boggy areas of Kamatu and Kicucu and a zone of bamboo forest near Lake Mahoma to base where you and your porters enjoy the cold beers, it is from this point you welcome back your porters as you shake hands. Thereafter continue to Queen Elizabeth N.P for a warm shower, Comfortable accommodation and hotel meals with lots of vegetables salads; overnight at Mweya safari Lodge. Full board.

Day 10: The option is yours to go for early morning game drive or spend the rest of the day at leisure swimming, reading and bird watching, or visit the museum at the Institute of Ecology just a few minutes walk from your lodge. In the afternoon you join the Launch cruise along the Kazinga channel as you look for animals coming down for a drink. Return to your accommodation.

Day 11: Leave the Hotel and set off to Kampala for your flight, Have lunch in Masaka and continue to Entebbe airport.
